The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper

I have just finished this book. It has not been published in Danish, but it may be translated. It is written by Phaedra Patrick. It is her debut and it is absolutely readable.

Arthur Pepper has lost his wife. They were married for more than 40 years. His  days follow the same routine every day. He tries to avoid  talking to anybody with the exception of his potted plant, Frederica. One year after his wifes death, he decides to clear out her things. He finds a bracelet with various charms. A brachelet he knew nothing about. He decides to uncover  the origin of the charms and to learn about his wife's past before they met. It takes the shy, friendly and insecure Arthur on a major investigation leading him to both London, Paris and India. It's a heartwarming feel good story.
