Rare Objects

Rare Objects by Kathleen Tesssaro
After reading The Perfume Collector I wanted to read more books by Kathleen Tessaro, and this book didn't disappoint..
Rebellious Maeve Fanning, the daughter of a single Irish mom, lives in the Italian part of Boston. She is determined to better her prospects, despite limited opportunities during  the 30s depression. She tries her luck  New York, but returns  to  Boston, as she doesn't succeed.  She finds herself a job, and a double life  with parties, booze and wealthy friends begin, until she finally  gets her priorities right.
A well written historical fiction.

Yoghurt Bread

This bread is easy and quick to make, as everything is stirred together and there is no kneading to be done. Then you place it covered with a lid or film in a cold place till the next day .
I have also put the recipe on my homepage along with all the other recipes (they are in Danish though)

Yoghurt Bread 2 loaves 15 g yeast Dissolve the yeast in the yoghurt and stir everything together. Don't knead the dough. Put in a cold place till next day. Pour the dough on a flour sprinkled table and divide it in two. Put in baking moulds (cake size) and bake for 15 minutes at 250 degrees and  approx. 20 minutes at 180 degrees. 2 Dl yoghurt 3 Dl cold water 7 Dl flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp liquid honey

The Christmas Promise

The Christmas Promise by Sue Moorcroft

Ava Bliss lives in London with her friend  Izz. She has started her own business as a milliner, and it is hard to make ends meet. Selling handmade hats isn't easy. Furthermore she is being stalked by her ex-boyfriend, and he threatens to publish  intimate pictures of her.
At a get together arrangement she meets Izz' boss, Sam. That gives a lot of complications, especially when they start to date pro forma. The story takes place in december and at Christmas
The genre is feel-good , chick-lit. It is a well written book, and the work in a PR-agency and the art of hat making is  interesting and well told  The subject of  hate porn is  described with great insight.
