The Patriarch - Martin Walker

Martin Walker

The Patriarch by Martin Walker.

Now I succeeded in getting hold of no.8 in the series. I have previously blogged about no. 9 because i didn't read them in the right order. That is not optimal as the relationship between the characters develop from novel to novel.
This story is as lovely as all the others. Beautiful French landscapes and places. In this one also a trip to Auvergne  (Massif Central) and Puy Mary. Also Le Thot , where the cave paintings you can't see in Lascaux II are reproduced. As in  other of the Benoît  Courrèges (Bruno) series this one is also full of good food and wine.
The story itself deals with a murder committed at a 90th birthday. The cold war, spies, family intrigues and politics are elements in the novel as well.
A very good crime novel.
